Under-Eye Fat Repositioning

“The hollowness and shadows under my eyesmake

my dark circles look worse, and I alwayslook tired.”

Under-eye fat protrusion and darkcircles can significantly

affect how tired or aged the face appears.

For this reason, many patients considerunder-eye fat repositioning

as a way to improve the appearance of thelower eyelid area.

In this case,

we will look at a patientwho underwent under-eye fat repositioning

to address dark circles caused bystructural shadowing.

“Before: Under-Eye Fat Repositioning”

➡️ Bulgingcaused by protruding under-eye fat

➡️ Shadowingbeneath the eyes

In the before photos,

the lower eyelidfat is visibly protruding,

creating a noticeable bulge beneath theeyes.

This contour naturally casts a shadow,

making the under-eye area appear darker andmore tired.

In other words, the dark circles in thiscase were largely influenced

by structural shadowing rather thanpigmentation alone.

“The Main Goal of

Under-Eye FatRepositioning”

The primary goal of under-eye fatrepositioning is to create

‘a smoother and more natural transitionbeneath the eyes’.

The weakened orbital septum is adjustedaccording to the patient’s anatomy,

and the procedure is performed without avisible external incision..

By repositioning protruding fat andimproving contour irregularities,

the under-eye area can appear flatter andless shadowed.

*However, discoloration caused bypigmentation

or visible blood vessels cannot befully corrected

with fat repositioning alone.

“The Procedure Should Not Be

Chosen Basedon Age Alone”

Many patients begin researching under-eyefat repositioning

because of concerns such as bulging, hollowness, or dark circles.

However,

age alone should not determinewhether the procedure is appropriate.

Even among patients with similarunder-eye concerns,

the ideal surgical approach can varydepending on skin thickness,

muscle condition, fat distribution, andoverall anatomy.

At LUHO Plastic Surgery, the under-eyearea is evaluated

through clinical assessment andultrasound examination

to determine the most appropriatesurgical plan.

“After: A Softer Under-Eye Contour

withLess Structural Shadowing”

❇️ Smootherunder-eye contour after repositioning protruding fat

❇️ Reducedshadowing as the under-eye hollowing improves

❇️ A softer, more natural transition beneath the eyes

By redistributing the protruding fat andsupporting areas

that appeared hollow, the structuralshadow

beneath the eyes was reduced.

As a result,

the under-eye area appearedsmoother, brighter, and less tired.

At LUHO Plastic Surgery,

under-eye fatrepositioning is planned based

on a detailed understanding of the lowereyelid structure

and the overall facial balance.

The goal is to achieve a natural,

well-balanced result while avoidingunnecessary overcorrection.
